Greetings
Odfjell Asia with successful
marketing meeting

Odfjell Asia held its annual market
seminar February 24-26th, gathering
members from our offices in the
region. The objectives of these meetings
are to review market developments,
discuss renewal of upcoming
contracts and analyze our competitors’
positions and moves. Of course, another
important element is the opportunity
for intra-company networking.
At this year's meeting we dwelled quite
a lot around the positive market trends,
and discussed how Odfjell Asia can
benefit from these when initiating new
activities. We also focused on the
composition of our contract portfolio,
to enhance operational flexibility benefiting
the bottom line. Further the
group spent substantial time discussing
how to achieve improved results
through better asset utilization and
operational efficiency. The market will
continue to improve in the region, and
we can still make improvements to our
own operation.

Thomas Haaland headed the successful
market session. Presentations from the
various members were interesting and
educational, and an active participation
in the exchange of ideas was
noteworthy and refreshing. During the
time together the group also socialized,
and on Saturday we toured the
Singapore harbour with the added
benefit of seeing some of the various
terminals in the port, including our
own Oiltanking Odfjell Terminal
Singapore.
The tsunami that so severely struck countries
around the Indian Ocean at the end of 2004
aroused a tremendous disaster relief effort
throughout the world. Odfjell Headoffice
quickly reacted to the seriousness of the
catastrophe through financial support to the
International Red Cross. Later on some of
our subsidiaries made local initiatives to support
the victims of the tsunami. This is the
story from our Houston office.
We thank everybody for their contribution
to this market meeting and appreciate
all the good work of the offices in
the region.

After the tsunami catastrophe in Asia
on Boxing Day, Odfjell’s people in
Houston felt the need to come together
and help. A relief drive was started
among the employees on January 5th,
and our local Wellness Committee, with
a lot of help from other volunteers,
enthusiastically took up the challenge
to promote the drive internallys. We
had a very positive response to the
fund drive, and when the two-week
