Charles, Natalie Cole, Bobby McFerrin and Freddie Hubbard.<br />

With Skin, <strong>Strathmore</strong> showcases six artists’ “body of work,” exploring the transformative properties,<br />

cultural significance and artistry of body modification through tattoo, henna, bodypainting, hair and<br />

makeup. The exhibition features one of the world’s foremost tattoo artists, Alex Reinke, with fellow ink<br />

authorities Robby Latos and Paul Roe, as well as body painter Craig Tracy, photographers John Borstel<br />

and Glenford Nunez, and henna artist Bhavna Naik. An opening reception with nosh and henna art<br />

stations will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 7-9 p.m.

as a sideman, songwriter and session musician, Scott has also released three records. The Washington<br />

resist...clearly the work of a pop artist talented and resourceful enough to stand on his own.”<br />

Virginia native Pat McGee has established himself as a perennial East Coast favorite since the release of<br />

his debut album From the Wood, touring relentlessly, performing an average of more than 250 live dates<br />

each year with his acoustic jam-rock sextet. McGee’s <strong>Strathmore</strong> performance is a fond reunion of local<br />

musicians from his past, including former Pat McGee Band bandmates John Small, <strong>Michael</strong> Ghegan,<br />

Patrick McAloon and Ira Gitlin, as well as lead singer of Eddie from Ohio Eddie Hartness, Nate Brown<br />

from Everything and John “Red” Redling from New Potato Caboose. Also performing with McGee are<br />

current high school student musicians from his alma mater, Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington.<br />

oldies and classical canon. Among the world’s most important contemporary ukulele ensembles, the<br />

Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is a group of all-singing, all-strumming uke players which believes<br />

the masterful Béla Fleck and The Flecktones, for this performance Driessen comes only with a fiddle and<br />

winner Mary Oliver will share excerpts from her latest project, A Thousand Mornings, being released<br />

While guitarist/singer/songwriter Keb’ Mo’ is fluidly virtuosic across the spectrum of music, from jazz to<br />

the great Delta tradition, the multiple Grammy winner tells tales of pain and glory from blues classics and<br />

his own original songs. He returns to <strong>Strathmore</strong> in 2012 by popular demand after kicking off the Music<br />

Center’s 2011 season. No matter what he plays, Keb’ Mo’s sound is “as honest and true as music can<br />

various pop recordings performed in her native Persian language. At <strong>Strathmore</strong> she performs the<br />

inspiring, hopeful music that’s made her an icon in the Middle East, including selections from her new<br />
