tion; no single nation owns the CFBLNet. Each member is responsible provisioning<br />

<strong>and</strong> operation for its own sites <strong>and</strong> systems. CFBLNet grew out of the need for<br />

persistent joint multinational <strong>and</strong> cost effective infrastructure for trial, assessment,<br />

testing, exercise <strong>and</strong> training. The capability allows for various national collaborations;<br />

e.g. CCEB, NATO, bilateral <strong>and</strong> multilateral. CFBLNet is accessible through<br />

sponsorship to additional partner nations, international organisations, industry<br />

<strong>and</strong> academia.<br />

Today CFBLNet recognizes over 234 sites globally which are participating<br />

in multiple initiatives throughout the year.<br />

CFBLNet operates under the CFBLNet charter, which establishes a common<br />

framework consisting of well-defined processes, security procedures <strong>and</strong> agreed<br />

technical st<strong>and</strong>ards.<br />

III. Current <strong>and</strong> potential operational benefits<br />

Every nation recognizes how difficult it is to maintain the multiple potential<br />

overlapping bilateral <strong>and</strong> multinational collaboration infrastructures. With its common<br />

framework, CFBLNet works as a coordinated capability while maintaining<br />

the required national <strong>and</strong> multinational security assurance.
