XVII SUMMER SCHOOL IN<br />
MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY<br />
Traditionally organized by the Evaluation and Synthesis of Bioactive Substances Laboratory<br />
(LASSBio®), the Summer School in Medicinal Chemistry was incorporated by <strong>INCT</strong>-<br />
INOFAR as an extension activity. The event, which is always carried out at <strong>UFRJ</strong> during<br />
summer vacation, offers 5 consecutive days of courses and conferences with renowned<br />
Brazilian and foreign experts in the field of Medicinal Pharmaceutical Chemistry.<br />
Since its creation, in 1995, the School has already had over 2,000 participants and has<br />
received famous scientists, responsible for the development of innovative medications,<br />
like Simon Campbell (sildenafil) and Robin Ganellin (cimetidine), who were able to<br />
retell the stories of their discoveries in person.<br />
