The <strong>QLogic</strong> <strong>SANsurfer</strong> <strong>Express</strong> <strong>Install</strong> <strong>Wizard</strong> package includes the <strong>SANsurfer</strong> <strong>Express</strong> GUI, Agents, and <strong>QLogic</strong><br />
HBA drivers <strong>for</strong> <strong>Windows</strong> <strong>2003</strong>.<br />
You can download the package as a self-extracting zip file from the HDS page within the <strong>QLogic</strong> website<br />

2. Requirements<br />
The <strong>QLogic</strong> <strong>SANsurfer</strong> <strong>Express</strong> <strong>Install</strong> <strong>Wizard</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Windows</strong> <strong>2003</strong> has the following requirements:<br />

Website<br />
To install the <strong>SANsurfer</strong> <strong>Express</strong> <strong>Install</strong> <strong>Wizard</strong> from the <strong>QLogic</strong> website:<br />
1. Download the <strong>QLogic</strong> <strong>SANsurfer</strong> express install wizard package from the the HDS page within the <strong>QLogic</strong><br />
website:<br />

2. Launch the downloaded self-extracting file. The program will extract its contents into a temporary folder.<br />
After extracting the files, the <strong>QLogic</strong> <strong>SANsurfer</strong> <strong>Express</strong> <strong>Install</strong> <strong>Wizard</strong> launches automatically.<br />
5.2 Running the <strong>SANsurfer</strong> <strong>Express</strong> <strong>Install</strong> <strong>Wizard</strong> from the CDROM<br />

To start <strong>QLogic</strong> <strong>SANsurfer</strong> <strong>Express</strong> <strong>Install</strong> <strong>Wizard</strong> from the CDROM, simply insert the CDROM into the<br />
CDROM media drive. The <strong>QLogic</strong> <strong>SANsurfer</strong> <strong>Express</strong> <strong>Install</strong> <strong>Wizard</strong> launches automatically from the<br />
CDROM.<br />
To re-run the utility, right-click the CDROM in your <strong>Windows</strong> explorer window and select Autorun.<br />
5.3 Working with the <strong>SANsurfer</strong> <strong>Express</strong> <strong>Install</strong> <strong>Wizard</strong><br />
To work with the <strong>QLogic</strong> <strong>SANsurfer</strong> <strong>Express</strong> <strong>Install</strong> <strong>Wizard</strong>:<br />
1. Power your machine off be<strong>for</strong>e installing the <strong>QLogic</strong> iSCSI Adapter.<br />
2. <strong>Install</strong> the adapter, as described in the Quick Start Guide.<br />
3. Power your computer back on.<br />
4. If <strong>Windows</strong> displays the Found new Hardware dialog box, click Cancel.<br />
5. Start the <strong>QLogic</strong> <strong>SANsurfer</strong> <strong>Express</strong> <strong>Install</strong> <strong>Wizard</strong> as described in section 5.2. The <strong>QLogic</strong> <strong>SANsurfer</strong><br />
<strong>Express</strong> <strong>Install</strong> <strong>Wizard</strong> starts the driver installation wizard.<br />
6. Follow the onscreen prompts to install the <strong>QLogic</strong> driver <strong>for</strong> the HBA. After it installing the driver<br />
successfully, the utility prompts you to reboot the system if necessary.<br />
The installation is complete once the system boots up.<br />
5.4 Updating the Driver<br />
While updating the driver, if the utility prompts you to replace qlsdm.dll, click Yes.<br />
6. Troubleshooting<br />
For troubleshooting, running diagnostics, and modifying adapter settings (like connection options and data<br />
rate) use the <strong>QLogic</strong> BIOS FASTutil by pressing +Q during the BIOS scanning process.<br />

Known Issues with current version of the <strong>SANsurfer</strong> <strong>Express</strong> Application<br />
FAT16 and FAT32 file system partitioning is<br />
not supported.<br />
If you prefer using these two file systems, use Disk Management to initialize and <strong>for</strong>mat the disk.<br />
