<strong>Premier</strong> Tilting <strong>disc</strong><br />

<strong>swing</strong> Check Valve<br />

Description<br />

The <strong>Premier</strong> Tilting Disc Check is of the Eccentric Butterfly valve<br />

design and is equipped with Dashpot which ensures that the valve<br />

is closed in two steps ie fast action during the first 90% of travel<br />

and controlled during the last 10% travel. This last 10% of travel is<br />

controlled by the Hydraulic Dashpot and is adjustable. Unlike most<br />

other Tilting Disc Check valves which use a Counterweight to speed<br />

up the closing action during the first 90% of travel, the <strong>Premier</strong><br />

Tilting Disc Check valve has a greater offset in the shaft to ensure<br />

that the weight of the door acts as Counterweight. The Dashpot can<br />

be controlled in both opening and closing directions to enable the<br />

<strong>Premier</strong> Tilting Disc Check valve to act as Pump Control valve on<br />

start-up. If extra fast closure is required, the counterweight can be<br />

added as an optional extra.<br />

Features<br />

• The valve seats at an angle of approximately 20º from the<br />

centreline which ensures a shorter travel of only 70º from<br />

fully closed to fully open and hence faster closing action.<br />

• Due to the Eccentric shaft design, the valve is in<br />

the normally open position during flow and the<br />

normally closed position during no flow.<br />

• Low opening pressure of only 80 kPa to fully open the valve.<br />

• Two-step closure – initially fast and last 10% slow<br />

and adjustable between 1 to 10 seconds.<br />

• The valve shaft is self lubricated for life<br />
