Thanks to its unique self-contained concept, Easy-e-Beam TM integrates in one unique system the E-beam
accelerator and the wire handling system, both of them being managed by a single PLC-based Control
System.

Wire and Cable Handling System
The underbeam capstan system is a four-drum design which can
accommodate wires and cables from 0.22 mm² up to 30 mm² (0.4 kcmil
up to 60 kcmil). These smooth, stainless steel drums are machined
and balanced for high speed processing and allow wire splices to pass
without interruption. The spacing of the wires is controlled by grooved
roller guides that are free to rotate when in contact with the wires.
Small wires twist slightly while passing between the drums. This assures
sufficiently uniform exposure to the electron beam after few passes
under the electron beam...
Integrated Safety Shielding
For the protection of personnel in the work environment, Easye-Beam
TM complies with all the safety regulations for electron
beam facilities. A safety interlock system shuts down this electrical
equipment if access to the electron beam process area is
attempted while in use.
Control System
The control system is an industrial
PLC-based system that integrates
all of the process variables and
maintains a log of process conditions.
It is user-friendly, making the Easy-e-Beam TM
processing convenient for production operators.

An Accelerator Pressure Vessel
that houses the voltage generating
components, the high voltage terminal, the
electron gun and the electron acceleration
tube.
A Vacuum Pumping System
which includes, in addition to the fore pump
and turbo-molecular pump, a thermocouple
gauge, an ion gauge and controller, and a
control system that ensures a safe shutdown
and automatic restart if a power failure
occurs.
A Radio Frequency Oscillator
that transforms incoming three-phase line
power into single-phase RF power for the
high voltage generating system in the
pressure vessel.
An Insulating Gas Subsystem
which is used to store the sulfur
hexafluoride (SF6) gas used within the
pressure vessel if and when maintenance
is performed on the electrical components
in the pressure vessel. SF6 gas is a
reliable insulator that prevents electrical
discharges between components within
the pressure vessel.

Wire and Cable Crosslinking Process
Wires and cables that are wound on reels are fed into the Easy-e-Beam TM and then, after electron beam
treatment, are rewound onto take-up reels. With Easy-e-Beam TM this requires only a limited amount of
valuable plant floor space.
