Ambient air : Data extremely limited. The most extensive information is the range
of 4.5 to 6.2 ng/m3 in air sampled along the Niagara River (1983). These values
are similar to recent values from Barcelona. Based on adult inhalation of 22 m3,
body weight of 64 kg, a 4hr/day outdoor exposure, mean intake estimated to be
0.26 to 0.36 ng/kg bw/d.
Indoor air : Maximum concentration of DBP in indoor air in nine homes in
Montreal, was 2.85 μg/m3. In a survey of 125 homes in California in 1990, median
daytime concentration was 420 ng/m3 . Based on daily inhalation volume for
adults of 22 m3, body weight of 64 kg, a 20hr daily exposure and DBP
concentration indoor air concentration of 420ng/m3 the daily intake of DBP
estimated at 120 ng/kg bw/d.
