Site Services<br />
NUNA’s high-arctic experienced personnel are well equipped to<br />
provide efficient site services comprising fully staffed infrastructures;<br />
camp, shops and facilities installations; aircraft freight handling; road<br />
and runway clearing; and transportation of fuel and supplies.<br />
Crushing<br />
Being open for business from Day 1 of Canada’s diamond discovery,<br />
NUNA was provided the opportunity to supplying the majority of the<br />
Northwest Territories and <strong>Nuna</strong>vut mine developments vital crushing<br />
services and site infrastructure construction for efficient mine<br />
operations. By employing NUNA’s complete crushing plants, NUNA<br />
has crushed natural esker and blasted rock and has constructed the<br />
majority of site runways (3,000' to 7,000'); site access roads 275 +<br />
km (8.2 m to 25 m wide x 2 m to 3 m high); pads for 100 to 350<br />
person camps, shops and tank farms; and dams and dikes.<br />

Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited<br />
Meadowbank Gold Project, <strong>Nuna</strong>vut, Canada<br />
108 km Road - Baker Lake to Meadowbank Project<br />
The longest all-weather road in <strong>Nuna</strong>vut employed NUNA’s heavy<br />
equipment construction fleet, crushing plant and crew of 60 + to drill,<br />
blast, crush, move and place over 1.7 million m 3 of ROQ material.<br />
BHP Billiton Diamonds Inc.<br />
EKATI Diamond Mine, Northwest Territories, Canada<br />
NUNA crushed, moved and placed 100,000 tonnes of blasted<br />
granite for the construction of EKATI’s 7,000' runway, plant site,<br />
31 km access and haulage road linking EKATI to Misery, plus<br />
additional crush for road maintenance. Cumulative crush was<br />
300,000 + tonnes.<br />
De Beers Canada Inc.<br />
Snap Lake Diamond Mine, Northwest Territories, Canada<br />
NUNA crushed, moved and placed rock for the construction of<br />
Snap Lake’s 5,000' airstrip, facilities pad, tank farm, 2 kimberlite<br />
containment dams and site access roads.<br />
Diavik Diamond Mines LTD.<br />
Diavik Diamond Mine, Northwest Territories, Canada<br />
Lac de Gras Constructors, a partnership of NUNA and Peter Kiewit<br />
Sons, developed the site earthworks which involved the crushing of<br />
material for the construction of a 5,250' airstrip, haul roads, plant<br />
site, kimberlite containment facilities, A154 and A418 water retaining<br />
dikes and cutoff wall and 200,000 + m 3 crush for PKC dams.<br />
Additional contracts included: jaw-only crush for 70,000 tonnes<br />
of kimberlite material to a finished product of 304 mm; and<br />
716,800 m 3 of crushed material to a finished product of<br />
19 mm up to 150 mm.<br />

Crushed, moved and placed rock for the construction of site access<br />
roads, pads, dams, lay down areas, tank farm and camp.<br />
BAFFINLAND IRON MINES CORPORATION<br />
Mary River Iron Ore Project, <strong>Nuna</strong>vut, Canada<br />
NUNA’s scope relating to the mining of a bulk sample and crushing<br />
services comprised the construction of a 120 km access road and<br />
a 9 km all-weather mining road, site infrastructure pads, airstrip<br />
and fuel tank farms. The bulk sample alone required NUNA to drill,<br />
blast, haul and crush raw ore to fine and lump product totaling<br />
120,000 tonnes.<br />
