Site Services
NUNA’s high-arctic experienced personnel are well equipped to
provide efficient site services comprising fully staffed infrastructures;
camp, shops and facilities installations; aircraft freight handling; road
and runway clearing; and transportation of fuel and supplies.
Crushing
Being open for business from Day 1 of Canada’s diamond discovery,
NUNA was provided the opportunity to supplying the majority of the
Northwest Territories and Nunavut mine developments vital crushing
services and site infrastructure construction for efficient mine
operations. By employing NUNA’s complete crushing plants, NUNA
has crushed natural esker and blasted rock and has constructed the
majority of site runways (3,000' to 7,000'); site access roads 275 +
km (8.2 m to 25 m wide x 2 m to 3 m high); pads for 100 to 350
person camps, shops and tank farms; and dams and dikes.

Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited
Meadowbank Gold Project, Nunavut, Canada
108 km Road - Baker Lake to Meadowbank Project
The longest all-weather road in Nunavut employed NUNA’s heavy
equipment construction fleet, crushing plant and crew of 60 + to drill,
blast, crush, move and place over 1.7 million m 3 of ROQ material.
BHP Billiton Diamonds Inc.
EKATI Diamond Mine, Northwest Territories, Canada
NUNA crushed, moved and placed 100,000 tonnes of blasted
granite for the construction of EKATI’s 7,000' runway, plant site,
31 km access and haulage road linking EKATI to Misery, plus
additional crush for road maintenance. Cumulative crush was
300,000 + tonnes.
De Beers Canada Inc.
Snap Lake Diamond Mine, Northwest Territories, Canada
NUNA crushed, moved and placed rock for the construction of
Snap Lake’s 5,000' airstrip, facilities pad, tank farm, 2 kimberlite
containment dams and site access roads.
Diavik Diamond Mines LTD.
Diavik Diamond Mine, Northwest Territories, Canada
Lac de Gras Constructors, a partnership of NUNA and Peter Kiewit
Sons, developed the site earthworks which involved the crushing of
material for the construction of a 5,250' airstrip, haul roads, plant
site, kimberlite containment facilities, A154 and A418 water retaining
dikes and cutoff wall and 200,000 + m 3 crush for PKC dams.
Additional contracts included: jaw-only crush for 70,000 tonnes
of kimberlite material to a finished product of 304 mm; and
716,800 m 3 of crushed material to a finished product of
19 mm up to 150 mm.

Jericho Diamond Mine, Nunavut, Canada
Crushed, moved and placed rock for the construction of site access
roads, pads, dams, lay down areas, tank farm and camp.
BAFFINLAND IRON MINES CORPORATION
Mary River Iron Ore Project, Nunavut, Canada
NUNA’s scope relating to the mining of a bulk sample and crushing
services comprised the construction of a 120 km access road and
a 9 km all-weather mining road, site infrastructure pads, airstrip
and fuel tank farms. The bulk sample alone required NUNA to drill,
blast, haul and crush raw ore to fine and lump product totaling
120,000 tonnes.
