EGF (10 μM) stimulation.<br />

Results:<br />

After Sorafenib exposure, primary hepatocytes showed<br />

higher cell viability, proliferation and stronger Raf/MAPK<br />

kinase activity compared with all hepatoma cell lines. In the<br />

in vivo model, the tumor volumes and number of intrahepatic<br />

and distant metastases were significantly decreased<br />

(P0.05).<br />

The current project indicates that Raf targeted inhibitor<br />

Sorafenib can reduce tumor proliferation and metastasis<br />

without retarding liver regeneration. This is a result of the<br />

different responses of primary hepatocyte and hepatoma<br />

cells to Raf/MAPK inhibition.<br />
