Trident Ferry
The Herm Trident Ferry sails daily from the St Peter Port Harbour. It usually leaves
from 'Cambridge Steps' but can also depart from either the 'Weighbridge' or 'Inter-
Island Quay' depending on the height of the tide.
The first and last boats always leave from Cambridge Steps. You will be told from
where the boat will depart as you buy your ticket from the Trident Kiosk located at
the 'Weighbridge'. If you are in any doubt please telephone either the kiosk on
(01481) 721379 or Herm Island on (01481) 722377.
If you are travelling to Herm Island on the 08:30 boat please be aware that the Trident
Kiosk does not open until 09:00. Passengers should go direct to the boat at
Cambridge Steps and buy a ticket from the boat crew as you board.
Please note that there are discounted fares available on certain sailings each day.
Parking & Buses
Travelling to Herm is easy. Just get into St Peter Port and hop on the Herm Trident
and 20 minutes later you will be in Herm.
The Harbour area is easily located in St Peter Port and has public parking available
nearby for those with cars. There are also bus stops within easy walking distance.
Alternatively you can take advantage of Guernsey's 'Park & Ride' scheme that
operates from Footes Lane.
If you are staying at a hotel on Guernsey then ask reception staff about the easiest way
to get in to St Peter Port. They should be able to advise you on local buses and bus
routes. Alternatively they could contact the bus depot, the Travel Trident Kiosk or
Herm Island for advice.
An alternative to car parks and buses is to use a taxi to take you from your
accommodation direct to the Trident Kiosk or the boat.
As a final alternative you could get on your bicycle and ride into town. Lock it to the
railings near the Trident kiosk and away you go - certainly the cheapest way to travel!

Use the Bus
There is a network of buses running all over Guernsey and outside St Peter Port you
are able to 'hail' a bus anywhere providing it is safe to stop.
The three bus stops nearest to the Weighbridge are located opposite the Tourist
Offices, at the bottom of 'St Julian's Avenue' or along 'Glategny Esplanade'. When
you are making your return journey ask the driver to drop you as close to the
Weighbridge as possible.

Ormer Card
All bus journeys cost 60p on Guernsey wherever you want to go and however far. At
the bus terminus you are able to purchase an "Ormer" card that will discount your
ticket price depending on how many you buy at a time. A ten journey card will cost
£4.50 and get your average family into town and back home again without the parking
problems!
'Wave & Save' cards can be purchased from the Island Coachways' bus information
kiosk at the St Peter Port bus terminus and can be topped up at the kiosk or by your
driver on board the buses.
Car Parking
All public car parking on Guernsey is free. The only thing you must remember to do
is set your parking clock! Failure to do so will incur a fine from the local traffic
wardens. Parking clocks are usually provided in all hire cars.
You are restricted in how long you are allowed to park, so please pay attention to the
signs indicating the various timed zones.
The 10 hours spaces in the North Beach carpark usually fill up fairly early in the
morning but space can be more easily found at the Salerie Corner car park which is
only a short 10 minute walk from the weighbridge ticket kiosk.
From May to September there are a limited number of parking spaces available from
the Travel Trident Kiosk which are located on the 'East Arm' of the Harbour area.
These spaces cannot usually be pre-booked and there is a charge, unlike the public car
parks.
Park & Ride
Free parking is available at the Park & Ride Car Park at Footes Lane. From here you
can catch one of at least three buses each hour into the centre of St Peter Port (See
routes 1, 1A and 2).
