tested and that information will be available

from premier Shorthorn breeders in the heart of

The First Annual Midwest Shorthorn 

Spectacular will start off with a bang in the Heart of 

the Midwest, Macomb, IL. The Lowderman Auction 

Facility is located within minutes of Missouri as well 

as Iowa, providing a quick route to view all of these 

Top Notch Cattle that have been gathered across the 

Midwest, into one location. The Shorthorn Spectacular 

will feature over 15 consignors, from all over the 

Heartland, offering their top consignments. 

When putting together the consignments 

for this sale the sale committee as well as the members 

of the sale management decided to focus our 

efforts on assembling a diverse quality driven set of 

cattle. When this diverse set of cattle is assembled in 

Macomb, we feel that you will quickly notice that the 

cattle consigned in this sale not only contain some of 

the most highly valued pedigrees in the breed. But

at the side of her dam in the 2006 Moore Sale 

where we thought that they were the top pair in 

that sale. We are always looking for a top cow 

family to add to our herd and we thought her 

dam would fit the mold. 652 is straight out of this 

year’s showstring where she was a class winner 

many times for Rob. She will easily make a competitive 

Senior Yearling show heifer this year 

before she calves in the fall to Rock Solid our 

Louisville Calf Champion bull. Rock Solid is a 

son of K-Kim Castlerock out of our top cow JS 

Miss Michelle 5J18. 652 is a polled female that 

was a 78 lbs. birth weight with a 975 lbs. weight

We were excited the day that this herd 

bull prospect hit the ground and we haven’t 

been disappoint yet. Shamrock has a long, 

square hip with tremendous depth and shape to 

his rib cage, while standing on a great amount 

of bone with clean, smooth joints that make 

him very athletic in his movement. When you 

own a bull with this much eye appeal, structural 

correctness, and performance you can create so 

many opportunities for your herd. Shamrock 

was shown this past year with great success and 

could be very competitive again this year while 

you also use him as a herd sire. Don’t let his 

white color dissapoint you, there are too many 

positive attributes that this bull possesses to 

pass him up. Remember, you can’t buy Castlerock 

semen anymore. His dam was our pick 

of the bred heifers in 2004 from the Smither’s 

Family. Retaining an in herd semen use. We
