Dog Training
Bring your dog to school! In this six-week class, your
dog will learn all the basic commands (sit, down, stay,
come, etc.). In addition, you’ll get training solutions
to concerns like house training, jumping up, digging,
barking and pulling on the leash. We use positive,
motivational training methods. Class is open to dogs
and puppies, 12 weeks and older, who are current on
their shots (parvo, distemper, rabies and bordatella).

Fun and Games for Dogs and Their Owners
This class is like summer camp for dogs! You’ll get
practical training tips for teaching your dog more than
20 different tricks, including wave, sit up, bow, jump
through a hoop and weave through legs. Trick training
can be just for fun, for performances, therapy visits or
even to get a start on your pet’s movie career. You’ll
also learn techniques to keep your dog motivated and
having fun when you’re working on basic behaviors that
all dogs should know, like sit, stay, come and walk on
leash. The result Training that’s fun for both of you and
a happier, better-behaved pet.

Concealed Carry Training
New Mexico allows residents to carry a concealed
handgun with a state license. Applicants must be
United States citizens, 21 or older, complete 15 hours
of training and demonstrate the knowledge and
skills required by law. Using NRA materials, certified
instructors cover selection, ownership and operation of
revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, safe gun handling
and key elements of accurate pistol shooting. Serious
attention is given to legal issues. The fee includes
two handbooks and additional materials but not
ammunition. You don’t need to own a gun; a selection
of pistols will be available at the outdoor shooting
sessions.

MONEY MATTERS
Savvy Social Security Planning
This informative class covers the basics of Social Security
and reveals strategies for maximizing your benefits.
Students will learn when to apply for benefits, when
it makes sense to delay benefits, how to estimate your
benefits, how to minimize taxes on Social Security
benefits, how to coordinate Social Security with your
other sources of retirement income and other tips. This
class will review different scenarios of when to choose
to take Social Security payments along with a discussion
on Medicare Part A, B, C and D options. Peter Murphy is
