Backgammon is a game of skill. Short-term luck is an<br />

exciting part of the game, but the experienced player<br />

will prevail. Skills required to become a good player boil<br />

down to visualization, planning, analytics, intuition and<br />

psychology. This course is designed to foster analytical<br />

thinking through backgammon. Begin to play in the<br />

first session. Each class consists of instruction and board<br />

play among students.<br />

Increase your understanding of the sky above us.<br />

Spatial relationships of nearby celestial bodies, the<br />

motion of these bodies, including the earth, hold the<br />

key to understanding our place in the universe. The<br />

course covers a lunar month so students can observe<br />

the cycle as it unfolds. Barney Magrath has worked<br />

for observatories in Hilo, HI (Canada-France-Hawaii<br />

Telescope) and Laramie, WY.<br />

competitive, mind-stimulating game whether played at<br />

home or at bridge clubs. Have fun this summer learning<br />

a new game. Younger, school-age players strengthen<br />

their math and science skills while older players live<br />

longer. Follow-up classes are offered as you gain skills.<br />

The focus will be on the staymen convention, Jacoby<br />

transfers and weak two-bids. Specific topics will be<br />

presented, followed by playing bridge hands based<br />

on the topics discussed. These lessons will increase<br />

students’ knowledge and ability to play winning and<br />
