Introduction to Backgammon NEW!
Backgammon is a game of skill. Short-term luck is an
exciting part of the game, but the experienced player
will prevail. Skills required to become a good player boil
down to visualization, planning, analytics, intuition and
psychology. This course is designed to foster analytical
thinking through backgammon. Begin to play in the
first session. Each class consists of instruction and board
play among students.

The Sky Above And How It Works
Increase your understanding of the sky above us.
Spatial relationships of nearby celestial bodies, the
motion of these bodies, including the earth, hold the
key to understanding our place in the universe. The
course covers a lunar month so students can observe
the cycle as it unfolds. Barney Magrath has worked
for observatories in Hilo, HI (Canada-France-Hawaii
Telescope) and Laramie, WY.

Beginning Bridge – Bidding Off Campus
Everyone is welcome to this introduction to the
great game of bridge. Bridge is a social as well as a
competitive, mind-stimulating game whether played at
home or at bridge clubs. Have fun this summer learning
a new game. Younger, school-age players strengthen
their math and science skills while older players live
longer. Follow-up classes are offered as you gain skills.
Dee Brenner is a retired educator, a Gold Life Master in
American Contract Bridge League and has a passion for
the game of bridge.

Beginning Bridge – Conventions NEW!
Off Campus
This class is for experienced, yet still beginning,
bridge players who want to increase their bridge skills.
The focus will be on the staymen convention, Jacoby
transfers and weak two-bids. Specific topics will be
presented, followed by playing bridge hands based
on the topics discussed. These lessons will increase
students’ knowledge and ability to play winning and
competitive bridge. Dee Brenner is a retired educator,

What’s a Cue Bid NEW! Off Campus
Explain to me why I just bid the opponents’ suit; a class
for the progressing player. Makes you think without
taking St. John’s Wort. There is plenty of in-class
play with hand records. Kay Enfield is a passionate

Play Bridge - Who Didn’t Bid NEW!
Off Campus
This is an intermediate-level class focusing on the
analysis of opponents’ pass. Lots of fun, only 30 minutes
of talk and 90 minutes of play. There is a textbook
and hand records included. Kay Enfield is a frequent
tournament bridge player and director. There is no class
on June 21.
