Personal enrichment FITNESS AND WELLNESS Our Fitness and Wellness classes allow you the opportunity to strengthen your body and mind through active participation in a course such as aikido or to study the nuances of good health management through a variety of lecture and discussion courses. Learn or Improve Your Golf Game Off Campus This one-day golf school covers all aspects of the short game and the full swing. The course also covers golf equipment and golf rules. Students will complete the day with a playing experience. All levels of golfer will benefit from this class. Sandy Lemon is an LPGA and PGA professional who has been teaching golf for more than 25 years, has co-taught with legend Rosie Jones and was awarded PGA Teacher of the Year. The class will be taught at Twin Warriors Golf Club/Hyatt Tamaya Resort. Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 12, 1 day. Course #HF303 01/CRN 10632 Sandy Lemon, Fee $145 Warm Water Arthritis Management Warm water exercise is one of the best types of therapy for those suffering with arthritis and other disabling conditions. Luna, Fee $85 Zumba Fitness Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance fitness class that incorporates dynamic, exciting and effective fitness systems. It combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body in an aerobic fashion to achieve a blend of cardio and muscle toning benefits. Zumba is exercise in disguise. It’s different, it’s easy and it’s for all ages and fitness levels. There is no class on July 6 and 8. Wednesday and Friday, 6 to 7 p.m., June 8, 7 wks. Course #HF347 01/CRN 10384 Lloyd Takeshita, Fee $99 Baby Boomer Fitness NEW! If boot camp classes are intimidating, then this class is for you. The class is geared for baby boomers who desire to improve their overall well-being and selfconfidence. Totally outdoors, your instructor will lead you through a progressive fitness routine of aerobic, anaerobic, plyometric and bodyweight strength training. You will also learn heart-healthy nutrition and how it affects your training and lifestyle. Lloyd Takeshita is a certified personal trainer and Zumba instructor. There is no class on July 7. But don’t forget to pay for your classes. Warm Water Yoga This innovative program incorporates water exercise and meditation. Traditional yoga postures are adapted to the water to accommodate various fitness levels and abilities. The class takes place in a 91-93 degree Fahrenheit therapy pool which may contribute to deep relaxation, and pain and stress reduction. Practicing yoga in warm water is especially helpful for joint inflammation, pain and stiffness. R.C.
