<strong>Welcome</strong> <strong>to</strong> the Conference<br />
PSAM 11 & ESREL 2012 will be the major<br />
international event in Probabilistic Safety<br />
Assessment in 2012. The Conference brings<br />
<strong>to</strong>gether experts from various industries,<br />
research organisations, regula<strong>to</strong>ry authorities<br />
and universities. It offers a platform<br />
for contacts between different fields from<br />
nuclear, process and chemical industries,<br />
off-shore and marine, space and aviation,<br />
IT and telecommunications, bio and medical<br />
technology, civil engineering and financial<br />
management. The multidisciplinary Conference<br />
is aimed <strong>to</strong> ensure the cross-fertilization<br />
of methods, technologies and ideas.<br />
The PSAM 11 program is a perfect<br />
blend of ESREL–PSAM traditions and<br />
Nordic Footprints in the safety assessment<br />
including a special emphasis on non-nuclear<br />
technologies.<br />
