- Year to date (July/Apr) figures have increased by 1.51%. The month <strong>of</strong> April reflects a decline in the<br />

aquatic and health club areas, this maybe attributed to Easter falling earlier this year and inclement<br />

weather during the school vacation period.<br />

• Year to date (July/Apr) memberships have declined by 0.80%<br />

• Five (5) staff from the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Bayswater</strong> has taken advantage <strong>of</strong> the 50% staff discount on<br />

memberships. Current active staff membership is 70.<br />

• The promotional <strong>of</strong>fer this month was on <strong>of</strong>fer to all 6 month new members and renewing members<br />

to upgrade from a one month to a two month option.<br />

• 70 new memberships were contracted and 161 members who renewed, <strong>with</strong> 39 new members<br />

participating in a health assessment.<br />

3. PRIVILEGE CARD<br />

Residents <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> are eligible to purchase a privilege card for $10 which entitles the holder to a 15%<br />

discount on memberships and pool entry <strong>with</strong>in the Centre. The discount card was introduced in 1999 and<br />

was made available to residents <strong>with</strong>in the <strong>City</strong> over the age <strong>of</strong> 13 years. The current system does not have<br />

an expiry date on the privilege card however members are required to resubmit their information regarding<br />

their residency on renewal <strong>of</strong> their membership.<br />

• During the month <strong>of</strong> April 2010, 57 residents purchased a privilege card.<br />

• There are currently 17,183 registered privilege card holders.

7. BUILDING, PLANT AND EQUIPMENT<br />

The following equipment was replaced:<br />

- Lighting to grandstand;<br />

- Change room lighting;<br />

- Thermostats for showers;<br />

- Lap clock.<br />

A service was carried out on:<br />

- Monthly service <strong>of</strong> plant rooms and circulation systems;<br />

- Main chiller;<br />

- AHU water treatment system;<br />

- Front foyer entrance locks;<br />

- Fire hydrants;<br />

- DE Filters to indoor pools;<br />

- Grandstand repainted;<br />

- CCTV.<br />

8. HEALTH, SAFETY AND SECURITY<br />

The chlorine compound alarm has <strong>under</strong>gone testing on four occasions <strong>with</strong> no faults during the month <strong>under</strong><br />

review.<br />

Eight (8) minor first aid incidents <strong>with</strong> assistance from lifeguards on three occasions. There were no<br />

incidents that were referred to Police Services.<br />

9. STAFF<br />

Currently there are two staff vacancies, both full time lifeguards.<br />

The Royal Life Saving Society training room has commenced construction at the south eastern corner <strong>of</strong> the<br />

building, abutting the newly constructed gym extension, this addition is being funded by the Federal Grant<br />

Community Education and Vocational training infrastructure.

The water playground is now closed for the 2009/2010 summer season from Sunday 1 November 2009,<br />

through to 18 April 2010. However due to inclement weather the water playground closed on 12 April 2010<br />

for the summer season.<br />

The water playground was also closed on Christmas Day and will close on Good Friday.<br />
