How to read this manual<br />

Manual make-up<br />

This manual is composed of 13 chapters and an appendix.<br />

Chapter 1 provides information that you should know before using this<br />

device, such as device features and part names. First read chapter 1 for an<br />

understanding of basic matters pertaining to this device.<br />

Chapter 2 provides information on matters you will need to know to<br />

operate this device, such as turning the power on and off, and how to put<br />

paper in the device. Refer to this chapter for basic information on<br />

operating this device.<br />

Chapters 3 to 13 provide information on device functions, operation and<br />

how to manage the settings. First read chapters 3 and 4 for an overview of<br />

functions and operations. Then proceed to the chapter you want to refer<br />

to.<br />

Chapter 5: Refer to this chapter when setting the data format you<br />

will use.<br />

Chapter 6: Refer to this chapter when setting the operating<br />

conditions for the engine of this device.<br />

Chapter 7: Refer to this chapter when you have loaded a different<br />

type of paper in the device and you must change the<br />

settings accordingly.<br />

Chapter 8: Refer to this chapter to confirm Setup contents or to set<br />

the date and time.<br />

Chapter 9: Refer to this chapter when setting the communication<br />

protocol.<br />

Chapter 10: Refer to this chapter when conducting initialization.<br />

Chapter 11, 12: Refer to these chapters when setting the communication<br />

conditions for Ethernet and parallel connection or when<br />

returning to the default settings.<br />

Chapter 13: Refer to this chapter when using "Terioplot".<br />

Chapter 14 provides information on troubleshooting if a problem occurs<br />

with this device.<br />

The basic specifications and command list for this device can be found in<br />

the appendix. The menu structure is explained in great detail here. Refer<br />

to this menu to perform settings for menus which are not fully explained<br />

by the setting operations for chapters 5 to 13.<br />
