Due to the high reflectance properties of ice <strong>and</strong> snow in Antarctica,<br />
backscatter was becoming an issue from the white xenon light of the AS500.<br />
To overcome this issue an amber version of the AS500 was developed in<br />
conjunction with the Australian Antarctic Division, as the colour temperature<br />
of the globe eliminated this issue.<br />
