Hella has developed a new range<br />
of EziPAK ® service kits to meet<br />
the need of mobile field service<br />
technicians maintaining mining<br />
machines on site.<br />
EziPAK ® kits are based on many<br />
years of practical experience.<br />
Each kit is contained in an impact<br />
resistant <strong>and</strong> washable, heavyduty<br />
injection moulded carry<br />
case that slides into a self locking<br />
modular double storage tray for<br />
easy installation into field service<br />
vehicles, or use as a central<br />
storage point in the workshop<br />
environment.<br />
The EziPAK ® kit comprises six of<br />
the most popular size heat shrink<br />
sleeves as well as five different<br />
sized solder sleeves. A battery<br />
operated soldering iron <strong>and</strong> a<br />
flameless heat gun are also part<br />
of the kit.<br />
Hella adhesive-lined, medium-wall<br />
heat-shrink sleeving is a versatile,<br />
environmentally friendly choice for<br />
many commercial <strong>and</strong> heavy-duty<br />
mining applications that require<br />
mechanical protection <strong>and</strong> sealing<br />
against moisture <strong>and</strong> chemical<br />
ingress, whilst maintaining<br />
flexibility when installed. Typical<br />
applications include environmental<br />
sealing <strong>and</strong> protection or irregular<br />
shapes, such as wire splices,<br />
breakouts <strong>and</strong> connector-tocable<br />
transitions, in dem<strong>and</strong>ing<br />
industries. Hella heat-shrink<br />
sleeving features an outer<br />
jacket of radiation-cross<br />
linked, flexible, flame-retardant<br />
polyolefin. Unlike other typical<br />
flame-retardant sleeving,<br />
Hella Mining sleeving is free<br />
of polybrominated biphenyl<br />
oxides (PBBOs). In Europe,<br />
these chemicals are classified<br />
as environmentally hazardous<br />
substances.<br />
As the sleeving shrinks, the<br />
inner adhesive liner melts <strong>and</strong><br />
flows to seal <strong>and</strong> encapsulate<br />
components or splices<br />
contained within. The adhesive<br />
bonds to a wide range of<br />
plastics, rubber <strong>and</strong> metals,<br />
including polyethylene,<br />
neoprene <strong>and</strong> steel. With a<br />
high shrink ratio of 3:1, only a<br />
few sizes of Hella heat-shrink<br />
sleeving are needed to cover<br />
a wide range of substrate<br />
diameters <strong>and</strong> irregular<br />
shapes, enhancing inventory<br />
efficiency. Hella heat-shrink<br />
sleeving is UL recognized (E35586)<br />
<strong>and</strong> CSA-certified (LR31929) at<br />
125ºC, 600V.<br />
Additional empty carry cases <strong>and</strong><br />
rack modules are also available to<br />
allow service teams to create their<br />
own customised kits if needed.<br />
