A.9.4 The <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> Event Planning Calendar shall list all sanctioned events,<br />

National <strong>Orienteering</strong> Day, events currently in sanctioning, events that are known<br />

to be in the planning stages, and other significant National or International <strong>Events</strong><br />

that potential event hosts might want to work around.<br />

A.9.5 The <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> Event Planning Calendar shall be readily accessible by the<br />

public from the <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> website.<br />

A.10 Course Designations<br />

A.10.1 White level courses are intended <strong>for</strong> novice orienteers.<br />

A.10.2 Yellow level courses are intended <strong>for</strong> advanced beginners.<br />

A.10.3 Orange level courses are intended <strong>for</strong> intermediate level orienteers.<br />

A.10.4 Brown level courses are technically advanced but designed <strong>for</strong> older orienteers<br />

with physical limitations due to age.<br />

A.10.5 Green level courses are technically advanced with moderate physical difficulty.<br />

A.10.6 Red level courses are technically advanced with high physical difficulty<br />

appropriate <strong>for</strong> Elite female competitors.<br />

A.10.7 Blue level courses are technically advanced with high physical difficulty<br />

appropriate <strong>for</strong> Elite male competitors.<br />

A.10.8 Any event that uses alternative designations <strong>for</strong> the courses shall also include the<br />

closest matching color designation in the event in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

A.11 Classes<br />

A.11.1 Competitive Classes<br />

A.11.1.1 Individual competitors are divided into classes by gender (M <strong>for</strong> male, and F<br />

<strong>for</strong> female), and age as of December 31 of the current year.<br />

A.11.1.2 Every course level except White and Blue shall also have competitive non-age<br />

specific open classes <strong>for</strong> each gender (M or F followed by the course color).<br />

A.11.1.3 The White course level shall have a single competitive open class that is open<br />

to competitors of any age or gender (M/F White).<br />

A.11.1.4 Classes <strong>for</strong> gender-neutral non-age specific Groups shall be offered on White,<br />

Yellow, and Orange course levels (Gr followed by the course color).<br />

A.11.1.5 Women shall be allowed to enter age appropriate male classes.<br />

A.11.2 Recreational (non-competitive) classes
