A.8.3 If a host chooses to have a registration cutoff or late registration penalty deadline,<br />

the date may not be earlier than 21 days be<strong>for</strong>e the first day of the meet (or meet<br />

series if there is a common registration deadline). The effective date <strong>for</strong> mailed<br />

registrations and payment shall be the postmark and <strong>for</strong> electronic registrations<br />

and payments the time stamp of confirmation messages. Organizers should be<br />

specific about the effect of time zones on electronic time stamps and late<br />

registrations.<br />

A.8.4 Courses and course lengths, and/or lengths of relay legs shall be published with<br />

the invitation or as soon thereafter as they are known<br />

A.8.5 Event In<strong>for</strong>mation (Bulletin 3) that a competitor will need prior to traveling to the<br />

event shall be published at least one week be<strong>for</strong>e the event. Details can be found<br />

in the <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> Sanctioning Guidelines.<br />

A.8.6 Additional event in<strong>for</strong>mation (Bulletin 4) shall be provided to the competitor<br />

upon check-in at the event. At a minimum, any in<strong>for</strong>mation that was not<br />

published by one week prior to the event must be provided to each competitor in<br />

hardcopy <strong>for</strong>mat at the event.<br />

A.8.7 All in<strong>for</strong>mation required by this section shall be published on a publiclyaccessible<br />

website in a standard <strong>for</strong>mat readable by commonly-used free software.<br />

A.8.8 All in<strong>for</strong>mation shall be available at least in English.<br />

A.8.9 The host shall honor all published in<strong>for</strong>mation unless extenuating circumstances<br />

necessitate a change.<br />

A.8.10 In extenuating circumstances in<strong>for</strong>mation may be supplied orally.<br />

A.9 O<strong>USA</strong> Calendar<br />

A.9.1 The Sanctioning Committee shall maintain the <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Orienteering</strong><br />

Event Calendar and Event Planning Calendar.<br />

A.9.2 The <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Orienteering</strong> Event Calendar shall list all sanctioned<br />

events <strong>for</strong> the current and following year and National <strong>Orienteering</strong> Day. For each<br />

meet it shall contain at least the following:<br />

g) Date of the event<br />

h) Classification of the event<br />

i) Location of the event<br />

j) Hosting organization<br />

k) Contact name, website, email address, mailing address and phone number<br />

A.9.3 The <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Orienteering</strong> Event Calendar shall be published on the<br />

<strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> website and periodically distributed to all <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong><br />

members.
