C.11 Eligibility<br />
C.11.1 General Eligibility<br />
C.11.1.1 Any person desiring to compete is eligible except as set <strong>for</strong>th below or in<br />
special cases designated by the Executive Committee.<br />
C.11.1.2 Persons with prior knowledge of the competition area that they or the meet<br />
organizers believe will give them unfair advantage are not eligible to compete<br />
<strong>for</strong> awards, titles, or national rankings.<br />
C.11.1.3 Persons not eligible <strong>for</strong> awards, titles or national rankings may participate.<br />
C.11.2 Championship Eligibility<br />
C.11.2.1 The title of U.S. <strong>Orienteering</strong> Champion in any class as determined at an<br />
officially designated U.S. <strong>Orienteering</strong> Championship Event shall be limited to<br />
any person who meets all of the following criteria:<br />
e) Is a member in good standing of <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong><br />
f) Is either a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States of<br />
America<br />
g) During the same calendar year, has not and agrees not to compete <strong>for</strong><br />
another country’s national orienteering championship title.<br />
C.11.2.2 Questions - Requests <strong>for</strong> clarifications based on eligibility criteria may be<br />
submitted to the <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> Headquarters in writing 30 days prior to a<br />
championship/s.<br />
C.11.2.3 Rulings - Eligibility rulings will be made by vote of the <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong><br />
Executive Committee. Requests <strong>for</strong> eligibility rulings received by the<br />
<strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> Office at least 30 days in advance of an event registration<br />
deadline will be ruled upon prior to the entry deadline.<br />
C.12 Entries<br />
C.12.1 Competitors shall submit entries as specified in the Invitation.<br />
C.12.2 The entry fee shall be paid as specified in the Invitation.<br />
C.12.3 No competitor shall be entered in more than one class <strong>for</strong> any race.<br />
C.13 Training<br />
C.13.1 The organizer should, when possible, offer training areas <strong>for</strong> the competitors. The<br />
terrain, map, course and control descriptions should be as similar as possible to<br />
the competition area.
