C.8.3 An Event Invitation (Bulletin 2) including all details necessary <strong>for</strong> event<br />

registration shall be published at least three months be<strong>for</strong>e the event. Details can<br />

be found in the <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> Sanctioning Guidelines.<br />

C.8.4 If a host chooses to have a registration cutoff or late registration penalty deadline,<br />

the date may not be earlier than 21 days be<strong>for</strong>e the first day of the meet (or meet<br />

series if there is a common registration deadline). The effective date <strong>for</strong> mailed<br />

registrations and payment shall be the postmark and <strong>for</strong> electronic registrations<br />

and payments the time stamp of confirmation messages. Organizers should be<br />

specific about the effect of time zones on electronic time stamps and late<br />

registrations.<br />

C.8.5 Courses and course lengths shall be published with the invitation or as soon<br />

thereafter as they are known<br />

C.8.5.1 Event In<strong>for</strong>mation should describe the trail network by listing approximate<br />

percentages of:<br />

a) skating track<br />

b) diagonal track<br />

c) narrow, rough trail<br />

d) skiable road<br />

C.8.6 Event In<strong>for</strong>mation (Bulletin 3) that a competitor will need prior to traveling to the<br />

event shall be published at least one week be<strong>for</strong>e the event. Details can be found<br />

in the <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> Sanctioning Guidelines.<br />

C.8.7 Additional event in<strong>for</strong>mation (Bulletin 4) shall be provided to the competitor<br />

upon check-in at the event. At a minimum, any in<strong>for</strong>mation that was not<br />

published by one week prior to the event must be provided to each competitor in<br />

hardcopy <strong>for</strong>mat at the event.<br />

C.8.8 The host shall honor all published in<strong>for</strong>mation unless extenuating circumstances<br />

necessitate a change.<br />

C.8.9 In extenuating circumstances in<strong>for</strong>mation may be supplied orally.<br />

C.9 O<strong>USA</strong> Calendar<br />

C.9.1 The Sanctioning Committee will maintain the <strong>Orienteering</strong> <strong>USA</strong> <strong>Orienteering</strong><br />

Event Calendar and Event Planning Calendar.<br />

C.9.2 The Ski <strong>Orienteering</strong> Committee will communicate with the maintainer of the<br />

calendar to place Ski <strong>Orienteering</strong> events on the Calendar.<br />
