ost people go through life<br />
without ever experiencing a true<br />
mystical union with their god. And<br />
this is despite that fact that some<br />
of them are the most wonderful,<br />
spiritually motivated people we could meet…,<br />
involved with humanitarian charities and doing<br />
works of good and personal sacrifice every day.<br />
The so-called “mystical experience”<br />
where the interconnectedness and universality<br />
of everything is suddenly and graphically<br />
revealed in a single, brief period, changes one’s<br />
life profoundly and leads to an understanding<br />
of the inner meaning and perfection that exists in<br />
life…, a perfection and refinement that is inherent<br />
in everyone and everything, yet is so seldom<br />
perceived. But even if we are not privileged to<br />
have this experience of how things are at their<br />
deepest levels, we can still train ourselves to<br />
deepen our ordinary vision, and thereby lay the<br />
groundwork for the momentous moment when<br />
that experience finally occurs.<br />
Take any sight…, an unfolding rose, a<br />
majestic tree, a deep blue sky, a golden sunset<br />
or the sea with gulls lazily circling, and now<br />
concentrate intently on the sight. Almost certainly<br />
