The pre-normative research on concrete with lightweight
aggregate is performed in order to update the norm regarding
the production and use of lightweight concrete. The selected
lightweight aggregates used in the experimental studies were:
expanded clay, volcanic tuff, recycled bricks, basaltic scoria
and expanded perlite. Insulation and structural lightweight
concrete was obtained with mix design based on absolute
volume method.
