Heterocylic compounds in general and nitrogen heterocycles in<br />

particular, are the basis of many significant pharmaceuticals,<br />

physiologically-active natural products and synthetic<br />

compounds. Among them, the 1,2-diazine derivatives are<br />

important constituents in some drugs already in use for different<br />

human diseases or agrochemical products.<br />

In this respect, one of the main objectives of our research<br />

activity was the synthesis of new hydrazides/hydrazones starting<br />

from some N 2 -substituted pyridazin-3(2H)-ones and hydrazine<br />

hydrate, by adapting the literature procedures. Thus, varying the<br />

reactant ratio and using ethanol as solvent, we obtained the<br />

desired hydrazides, but also some unexpected fused<br />

azaheterocycles, as products of cyclocondensation reactions.<br />

The structure of compounds was proved by spectral analysis<br />

(IR, 1 H-NMR, 13 C-NMR) and X-ray diffraction (using a X-ray<br />

diffractometer: Xcalibur, Eos diffractometer).<br />

The newly obtained compounds are of practical interest as<br />

biological-active compounds (the tests are ongoing), and also<br />

those one bearing the amino marginal group could be used as<br />

intermediates for cyclization processes, to obtain oxazole/<br />

imidazole derivatives, known also as biological-active units and<br />

ionic liquid compounds.<br />
