Landscape Management Internship
The Milwaukee Brewers have openings for Two Landscape Management Interns. Positions
are seasonal fulltime from March through November 2013 with a 3-month minimum duration.
Internships are paid hourly positions. Evening, weekends, and holiday hours may be required.
Opened in 2001 Miller Park is a $400-million stadium located in Milwaukee’s Menomonee
River Valley. The 260 acres that make up Miller Park contains a diverse array of landscapes.
From the manicured landscape that surrounds the stadium to the large natural areas provided
by the Menomonee River and Hank Aaron State Trail. Each area of Miller Park poses a unique
land management challenge that Interns will have the opportunity to independently manage.
Landscape Management Intern will be expected to demonstrate competency in the following
duties: Plant Identification, Landscape Design, Landscape Installation, Integrated Pest
Management Planning, Seasonal Landscape Maintenance, Sustainable Systems, Irrigation
Maintenance, Application of Fertilizer and Herbicides. Landscape Management Interns will be
given the opportunity to independently plan and manage projects. Successful candidates will
also gain experience by independently managing and supervising crew members. Additional
educational opportunities will include Industry Seminars and Conferences, as well as guided
tours of the WI State and County Park Systems.
Successful applicants should have a valid Driver’s License, excellent work ethic, currently
enrolled in or recently graduated from a Landscape Management, Ornamental Horticulture or
related college program. Priority deadline for applications is January 18, 2013. Applications

Summary:
Landscape Management Interns will be responsible for assisting with overall Maintenance and Care of the 260 acre
Landscape surrounding Miller Park and Helfaer Youth Baseball Facility. Successful candidates will have the opportunity
to gain additional experience by independently managing the development of projects and supervising crew members.
Positions are seasonal fulltime from March 2013 through November 2013 with a 3-month minimum duration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Working knowledge of Plant Identification.
• Experience with Landscape Design and Installation.
• Assist in all Seasonal Landscape Maintenance.
• Irrigation System Maintenance and Management.
• Ability to work Independently and in Large Groups.
• Effectively lead an independent Landscape Crew.
• Safely Operate all Equipment and Machinery.
Qualifications/Education Required:
• Prior Landscape Maintenance experience is preferred.
• Candidates must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Landscape Management,
Horticulture, or related college program at an accredited college or university.
• Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
• Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks, with or without accommodation such as lifting and carrying
up to 50 pounds.
Other Qualifications:
Candidate must be available from Mid-May until August 2013; preference will be given to those available for the entire
MLB season. Required to work extended hours such as nights, weekends and holidays.
