Q. So what makes TimeWise® Targeted-Action Line Reducer so effective<br />
A. Because this is a targeted product, scientists at the <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong> Skin Care Laboratories<br />
looked for ingredients that would deliver visible benefits to very specific areas on the face:<br />
• Light-reflecting microspheres act like thousands of tiny mirrors, deflecting light<br />

A. The TimeWise® Targeted-Action Line Reducer click pen plays an important role<br />
in delivering a precise amount of the lightweight cream to the areas that need it the most.<br />
Before the first use, the pen must be primed. The first time it’s used, twist the base until<br />
a small amount of product is visible on the pen tip. (The next time, only a slight twist of<br />
the base is needed for the product to appear.) Place it directly on lines and wrinkles,<br />
then gently pat the product into place with a fingertip. Be careful not to “over pat,” which<br />
might lessen the effectiveness of the formula. If the treated areas develop a “powdery”<br />
finish, that’s a sure sign too much product was applied. Some practice may be necessary<br />
to determine the right amount of product to use, but the results are worth the practice.

May 2007-January 2008<br />
All new Sales Directors from January 2007 to December 2007<br />
should build their unit size to 50 active Beauty Consultants<br />
and have a total cumulative sales of P3 million during the<br />
contest period to qualify.<br />
And they will attend the new Sales Director Education in Bangkok,<br />

a. Sales Directors must be active with a unit size of 50 and in good standing<br />

For Independent Senior Sales Director Bernadette<br />
Arbolante, her <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong> career was the answer to her<br />
long search for meaning and growth in life. Born to a<br />
well to do family, Adette technically didn’t need to work.<br />
She was financially supported by her parents, and it<br />
was really not necessary for her to join the ranks of<br />
the work force upon graduation. But when her parents<br />
migrated, she was nagged with the question of what<br />
to do next with her life. She felt compelled to do<br />
something because something in her felt empty,<br />
and she believed she wasn’t reaching her maximum<br />
potential as a person.<br />
“I couldn’t imagine myself doing this business<br />
because I was really a shy person, but when I<br />
saw the big picture of what the <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong><br />
opportunity had to offer for me, I grabbed it<br />
immediately,” she shares.<br />
A Hotel and Restaurant Management graduate of<br />
Philippine Women’s University, Adette began her <strong>Mary</strong><br />
<strong>Kay</strong> career in April 2005 when her recruiter introduced<br />
<strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong> products to her. She was simply impressed with<br />
the products and became a very, very happy customer.<br />
So happy in fact that she became “addicted” to our<br />
products. The reason she<br />
signed up as well was to avail<br />
of the 45% discount since she<br />
really wanted to try all the<br />
products.<br />
Adette is a very organized<br />
person. She uses the Weekly<br />
Plan Sheet and always makes<br />
it a point that she follows her<br />
schedule. It enables her to<br />

Class gave her a sales of<br />

recruiter would open the newspaper and courageously<br />
get leads immediately. And she gets positive results always<br />
because she keeps a positive attitude at all times. She<br />
enjoys the business so much because she is able to help<br />
others and see the instant gratification they feel. She<br />
claims as well that the products sell themselves; and most<br />
of all, through <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong>, she has been transformed. She<br />
is credible enough to be called a “Beauty Consultant.” She<br />
adds that “<strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong> has taught me to be more<br />
perseverant and optimistic. I can absolutely say that<br />
I have become a more empowered individual and that<br />
has made a lot of difference in my life, and I want to<br />
share this with everyone else.”<br />
For Adette, booking is like one of her favorite hobbies –<br />
collecting fishes. It is really about knowing how to take<br />
care of your “soon to be customers.” You have to know<br />
what to say, what approach to apply for every individual<br />
– same theory applies to make fishes live longer. “<strong>Mary</strong><br />
<strong>Kay</strong> is a teaching business, we teach our customers<br />
the right way to take care of their skin and that makes<br />
us different from other companies,” she stresses.<br />
Adette’s <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong> business is stable. “I would like to see<br />
myself doing the business and continue helping other<br />
people in the best way I can,” she muses. She would<br />
like to grow old in this Company and continue doing the<br />
business - the <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong> way. She ensures as well that her<br />
unit members follow the <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong> way. As an Independent<br />
Senior Sales Director, she pledges to lay down all the<br />
cards to all her members, especially the new ones. She<br />
trains them and equips them with adequate knowledge<br />
with regards to the business.<br />

She loves to cook, dance, sing, adores Math and has been<br />
into selling since her college days. She has sold t-shirts,<br />
cars and real estate. She’s into flower arrangements and<br />
hates an 8-5 job. She’s not into movies but she likes<br />
Richard Gere. She is a BS Civil Engineer graduate of the<br />
University of Manila, is the 3rd eldest from 10 siblings and<br />
prioritizes to be a good single mom to her two children<br />
and send them to the best school. Would someone who<br />
describes herself as “simple” and always utters “this is<br />
good” as her favorite expression, be into <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong><br />
Oh yes...most definitely...in fact, Independent Senior Sales<br />
Director Ledivina Acuña has made <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong> a full time<br />
career. It has been her source of financial stability, and<br />
booking has been the foundation of her business.<br />
The year was 2005 of April when Ledi decided to register<br />
as an Independent Beauty Consultant. Prior to signing<br />
up, she already heard a lot about <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong>, but was simply<br />
not interested in colors. So instead of initially joining, she<br />
referred customers. It took her a year to finally get her first<br />
facial.<br />
But it was all worth the wait because Ledi immediately<br />
immersed herself in all the training programs <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong><br />
had to offer. She memorized the Career Path by heart. By<br />
October 2005, she debuted as an Independent Sales<br />
Director and three months after, became an Independent<br />
Senior Sales Director.<br />
Ledi shares that booking is very important. She realized<br />
this, and the grand opportunity of the <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong> career in<br />
her first Skin Care Class. This particular class changed<br />
her life, it was her turning point - because she was finally<br />
convinced that our products worked - when she saw the<br />
Php23,000 sale (in cash) she made out of the class. She<br />
was simply impressed! At present, Ledi continues to<br />
book every single day. If truth be told, she doesn’t let a<br />
day pass without scheduling appointments – either for<br />
her personal class or for assistance towards her Beauty<br />
Consultants. She gets restless when she does not<br />
schedule any appointment in a day. She is an “all work,<br />
no play” kind of person. Admittedly, she shares that she<br />
is a workaholic, and this is because she has been used<br />
to working since the young age of 17. For her, consistency<br />
is not necessarily about everyday. It is about<br />
activity – daily <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong> activities.<br />
The reason behind the success of every booking<br />
Ledi schedules is due to the right words she<br />
says. She invites to pamper rather than to<br />
earn. She never lets negativity inside the<br />
picture. She has mastered the art of<br />
booking by educating herself and<br />
immersing herself through endless<br />
trainings, product classes and unit<br />
meetings of her Independent Senior<br />
Sales Director. She also makes sure that<br />
once a class pushes through, that her<br />
customers try the products first, and she<br />
teaches them how to use the products<br />
properly. She values words: when she says<br />
something, she really means it. She never<br />
manipulates people and does things with<br />
passion. <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong>, for her, is not a short term<br />
business. She emphasizes that “If you do<br />
things right, little by little, you’ll reap the<br />
rewards.”<br />
Ledi is not in a rush. “Nothing is difficult in<br />
<strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Kay</strong> if you do things consistently,” she<br />
stresses. She has her goals all<br />
planned out accordingly, and<br />
above all, she aims to become an<br />
