<strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> <strong>2012</strong><br />

GFNorte we seek to preserve the integrity and quality of our<br />

operations, products and services, adapting profitability<br />

and making the generation of value the focus of our work,<br />

which serve as a guarantee for customers, shareholders and<br />

employees. As a result, in <strong>2012</strong> we received the following prizes<br />

and recognitions:<br />

Best Commercial Bank in <strong>2012</strong> in Mexico<br />

Awarded by: World Finance.<br />

GFNorte’s Achievement: In <strong>2012</strong> the Group materialized two<br />

of the largest deals registered in the Mexican financial sector:<br />

the merger with <strong>Ixe</strong> Grupo Financiero, which made it the third<br />

largest institution with the most Mexican capital, and the merger<br />

with the Mexican Social Security Institute’s Afore XXI.<br />

LatinFinance Bank of the Year <strong>2012</strong><br />

Awarded by: LatinFinance.<br />

GFNorte’s Achievement: Recognition for growth achieved in<br />

the areas of credit cards, government and Small and Medium-<br />

Sized Enterprise (SME) financing.<br />

Galardón PyME <strong>2012</strong><br />

Awarded by: Mexican Ministry of the Economy.<br />

GFNorte’s Achievement: Recognition for a third time and<br />

second year in a row as the bank that has granted the most<br />

loans to Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Mexico through<br />

government programs.<br />

Best Management Team in Latin America in <strong>2012</strong><br />

Awarded by: Institutional Investor.<br />

GFNorte’s Achievement: Directors and the Investment Relations<br />

Department were given the following recognitions:<br />

Alejandro Valenzuela, CEO:<br />

• Top CEO in Mexico rated by sell-side analysts;<br />

• Third in the Latin American financial sector (sell side).<br />

Rafael Arana, CFO:<br />

• Fifth (sell-side) and seventh (buy-side) in the regional survey<br />

David Suárez, Deputy Managing Director of Investor Relations:<br />

• Best financial sector director in Latin America and in his category<br />

in Mexico (sell-side);<br />

• Top in Mexico and number two in the Latin American financial<br />
