Total Fecundity
The total number of advanced oocytes in the ovaries
(FT) of sablefish captured in October 1986 increased
linearly with female weight (Win grams),

to this equation the total potential relative
fecundity (F,/W) of the sablefish taken in October
ranged from 100 oocytedg female weight for a 1.8-
kg female, to 107 for a 2.5-kg fish. The relation
between female fork length (L) and fecundity (F,)
was
