Cortex Berberidis<br />

Dosage forms<br />

C<strong>ru</strong>de d<strong>ru</strong>g and dried extracts, fluidextracts, and tinctures (1, 75). Store in<br />

a tightly sealed c<strong>on</strong>tainer away from heat and light.<br />

Posology<br />

(Unless otherwise indicated)<br />

Daily dose: c<strong>ru</strong>de d<strong>ru</strong>g 0.5–1.0 g three times daily, or by decocti<strong>on</strong>; liquid<br />

extract 1:1 in 60% ethanol, 0.3–1.0 ml three times daily; tincture 1:10 60%<br />

ethanol, 2–4 ml three times daily (1).<br />
