Oral administration of a 40% ethanol extract of the bark was not embryotoxic
when administered to rats and rabbits during pregnancy at a
dose of 1.6 ml/kg bw (26).

Posology

Adult oral daily dose: extracts, tinctures or fluidextracts equivalent to
120–240 mg of total salicin, or 6–12 g of powdered drug material as a decoction
(corresponding to 120–240 mg of total salicin) in two divided
doses (1, 16, 33).
