Chemical assay<br />
Total magnolol and h<strong>on</strong>okiol not less than 2.0% by high-performance<br />
liquid chromatography (2).<br />
Major chemical c<strong>on</strong>stituents<br />
Magnolol (0.01–16%) and h<strong>on</strong>okiol (0.005–9%) are bioactive major c<strong>on</strong>stituents<br />
bel<strong>on</strong>ging to the lignan group of compounds. Another major<br />
