Lichen Islandicus<br />
Posology<br />
(Unless otherwise indicated) (3, 17, 18)<br />
As a demulcent to treat inflammati<strong>on</strong> and dryness of the pharyngeal mucosa:<br />
comminuted herb for infusi<strong>on</strong>s and other Galenical formulati<strong>on</strong>s<br />
for internal use. For loss of appetite: comminuted herb, cold macerates<br />
for internal use.<br />
Average daily dosage: 4–6 g of herb in divided doses, or equivalent<br />
preparati<strong>on</strong>s (17). Infusi<strong>on</strong>: 1.5 g of c<strong>ru</strong>de d<strong>ru</strong>g in 150 ml water. Fluidextract<br />
1:1 (g/ml): 4–6 ml. Tincture 1:5 (g/ml): 20–30 ml (18).<br />
