To assist students to prepare for their co‐op work term, a 1‐hour per week non‐credit course will be
delivered in Semester 7. Topics covered in this course include job search, resume writing,
interviewing, appropriate workplace behavior and dress, and communication with employers.
In Semester 8, following the work term, students will be enrolled in a further 1‐hour per week noncredit
course designed to help students discuss the lessons learned in the workplace and to
incorporate that experience into their academic learning. Most co‐op students return to campus
with a better understanding of the kind of work they will be doing after graduation, and an
appreciation of how the material they learn at college applies to real‐life situations.
