<strong>Marketing</strong>. This rearrangement will make co-op more valuable to students and<br />

employers.<br />

Place the less critical courses in Semesters 7 and 8 when students are looking for work,<br />

but balance this with the need to keep their skills and knowledge current. The proposed<br />

Capstone Client Project course must be structured to keep skills current, and the<br />

curriculum flexibility <strong>of</strong> Current Issues in <strong>Marketing</strong> would allow for the introduction <strong>of</strong><br />

new tactical skills.<br />

To accommodate these changes:<br />

o Move two non-core (breadth) mandatory courses into later semesters, along with<br />

Business Finance II and Consumer Behaviour<br />

o Move Entrepreneurship to Semester 5 or 6.<br />

Consider separating CRM & Social Media as this is not a natural pairing. CRM belongs<br />

more with analytics. Or combine all three in one course<br />

Consider combining Consumer Behavior and Market Research.<br />

Ensure direct marketing is included in the curriculum if not in a distinct course.<br />

Ensure media planning/media buying (beyond Search Engine <strong>Marketing</strong>) is included in<br />

the curriculum if not in a distinct course.<br />

The inclusion e-commerce curriculum is critical.<br />

Ross thanked all for their participation and support. The group will reconvene on Wednesday,<br />

November 23, 2011, to review revised vocational learning outcomes and curriculum.<br />

4.2 Program Advisory Committee<br />

The minutes <strong>of</strong> the Program Advisory Committee meeting <strong>of</strong> November 23, 2011, follow.<br />

This submission differs from the content <strong>of</strong> the following Program Advisory Committee minutes in one<br />

substantive area due to modifications as the program was developed. We are not intending to deliver<br />

the program in hybrid/blended format, but in face‐to‐face web‐facilitated format as per the PEQAB<br />

definition.<br />
