Future Shortages<br />

With regard to future workforce gaps, about half <strong>of</strong> Employers believed that the supply <strong>of</strong> qualified HR<br />

candidates would be sufficient to fill expected job openings over the next five to 10 years, and one‐third<br />

were not able to <strong>of</strong>fer an opinion (Figure 13). However, several employers believed that supply would<br />

not be able to meet demand, and another few believed that a future shortage was possible. The<br />

majority <strong>of</strong> those predicting future shortages believed that the undersupply would worsen (Figure 14),<br />

and that needs would be greatest for Labour Relations Representatives, Health & Safety Specialists, and<br />

HR Generalists (Table 14).<br />
