Employers who responded to this question suggest that shortages in HR occupations are relatively
minor. 31
The occupation most frequently perceived as being in undersupply was Labour Relations
Representative, by about three‐quarters of employer respondents, followed by Compensation Analyst
(Figure 12). Three out of five employers reported current shortages for Health & Safety Specialist,
Benefits Administrator and HR Training Coordinator, and just more than half described shortages for
Recruiters and HR Generalist. The occupations most often considered to have critical shortages were
Health & Safety Specialist (rated 4 or 5 by more than one‐quarter of respondents) and Labour Relations
Representative (rated 4 or 5 by just less than one‐quarter of respondents).
