Appeal <strong>of</strong> Accounting Degree Based on Description and Interest in Specializations<br />

Overall, those interested in applying to the proposed Accounting degree found the majority <strong>of</strong> the<br />

features in the description to be appealing. Above all, Students rated the program very high on the fact<br />

that they are able to transfer credits, that it satisfies degree requirements for accounting pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

bodies and the possible career paths as an accountant, budget analyst, taxation specialist, auditor,<br />

treasurer or as a self‐employed pr<strong>of</strong>essional. The location <strong>of</strong> the school in London was also rated as a<br />

very strong feature among half <strong>of</strong> the Accounting Students.<br />

All the specializations proposed generally had some appeal among Accounting Students. Accounting and<br />

Entrepreneurship (75%) ranked the highest, followed by International Accounting (69%) and Accounting<br />

and Enterprise Management (69%). Accounting and IT was least favoured (63%).<br />

When Students were asked to rank the top reasons as first, second and third in terms <strong>of</strong> personal<br />

appeal, degree and pr<strong>of</strong>essional accreditations clearly outrank the other features (ranked 1st, 2nd or 3rd<br />

most <strong>of</strong>ten) as having most appeal in the accounting degree at 81%.<br />
