Humber College <strong>of</strong>fers an International Business specialization that focuses on international<br />

trade and finance. It requires 40 courses and 120 class hours. Applications to Humber College<br />

range from 133 to 142 in each <strong>of</strong> the three years since the program’s inception. Class enrollment<br />

ranges from 45 to 48 per class. This program attracts 10.2% from western catchment areas, and<br />

6.6% from eastern catchment areas.<br />

Sheridan College <strong>of</strong>fers Global Business Management focused on international trade,<br />

international marketing, supply chain management, and international finance. The Forum for<br />

International Trade Training (FITT) and Supply Chain & Logistics Canada (SCL Canada) both<br />

accredit the Global Business Management program. This program has eight study terms and two<br />

mandatory co‐op terms, and requires 39 courses to graduate. It also <strong>of</strong>fers the opportunity to<br />

study in the Netherlands for one semester. Similar to Humber College, this program attracts a<br />

large number <strong>of</strong> first‐choice applications (128 and 138 in each <strong>of</strong> the two years since the<br />

program’s launch), and enrolled 31 and 32 students in each year. Eight percent <strong>of</strong> applications<br />

are from the western catchment areas.<br />

In addition to these colleges, another 9 universities are <strong>of</strong>fering international business management<br />

specializations. These universities are King’s University College, Huron University College, Lakehead<br />

University, Wilfrid Laurier University, University <strong>of</strong> Western Ontario, University <strong>of</strong> Windsor, York<br />

University, York Schulich Business School, and the University <strong>of</strong> Waterloo. The University <strong>of</strong> Waterloo<br />

<strong>of</strong>fers both Global Engagement and International Trade specializations through its 5‐year Arts and<br />

Business program.<br />

Human Resources Management: Ten universities in Ontario (excluding Eastern Ontario) <strong>of</strong>fer general<br />

Human Resources bachelor’s degrees. Universities that <strong>of</strong>fer Human Resources include Algoma<br />

University, Huron University College, King’s University College, Lakehead University, University <strong>of</strong><br />

Ontario Institute <strong>of</strong> Technology, Wilfrid Laurier University, University <strong>of</strong> Guelph, University <strong>of</strong> Waterloo,<br />

York University, and University <strong>of</strong> Western Ontario. None <strong>of</strong> these universities require co‐op completion.<br />

Humber College and Seneca College are currently the only two colleges that <strong>of</strong>fer Human Resources<br />

specializations.<br />

Seneca College’s HR Strategy and Technology program focuses on using technology and related<br />

s<strong>of</strong>tware to conduct business functions. The program requires 157 hours and one co‐op term.<br />

Applications are relatively high for this program ranging from 82 to 119 over the past five years.<br />

Enrollments appear to be capped at 20 to 30 students per class. The program draws 6.4%<br />

applications from eastern catchment areas and 5.4% from western catchment areas<br />

Humber College’s HR Management program was established in 2008. The program requires 120<br />

hours and one co‐op term. The program enrolls approximately 30 to 35 students a year and<br />

attracts a greater proportion <strong>of</strong> western catchment area applications than Seneca College<br />

(9.7%); it also draws 7.5% <strong>of</strong> applications from eastern catchment areas.<br />
