14. Duplication Humber is currently the only college in Ontario offering a marketing degree program, and Humber’s program specialization is e‐Business. Several universities also offer a commerce or business administration degree with a marketing specialization, but none specialize in digital marketing. 14.1 College Programs in Ontario Only Humber College currently offers a degree program in marketing, a Bachelor of Commerce in e‐ Business Marketing. Humber’s emphasis is closer to e‐business than it is to marketing, although both areas are emphasized in the program name and curriculum. Humber is located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), geographically distant from the London area. Both programs will have mandatory co‐op and an applied approach in delivering the curriculum. The table below compares the curriculum between Fanshawe’s proposed Digital Marketing program and Humber’s e‐Business Marketing program. Both programs have the broad scope typical of a bachelor of commerce. Fanshawe’s program has greater emphasis on marketing, and also greater emphasis on the specialized digital marketing content. Emphasis in all these university programs is either on general (traditional) marketing or on marketing management. A couple of universities offer single courses only with digital marketing content. The table below lists the predominant university marketing programs in Ontario. Figure 14.1 University Programs Compared to Fanshawe’s Proposed B. Comm.
