EL-Paso, Texas Silver Massabki and Faith of the Mountain Awards John Massoud, Marie Heneine, Michael Maroon, Zachary Martin, Patrick Crowley, Joseph Camara, Justin Karam, Adam Correia, Jacob Moniz, Cole Beland, Tyler Abdellah, Diana Carney, Marissa Carney and Jacob Faris received their First Holy Communion on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at St. Anthony of the Desert in Fall River, Mass. Our Lady of Victory, Carnegie, Penn. Benjamin Romah, Joseph Fayad, Maya BouSamra, Brittany Joseph, Christopher Joseph and Nathan Marron received their First Holy Communion on Saturday May 5, 2007 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Carnegie (Pittsburgh), Penn. Mrs. Madeline Jabor received the Silver Massabki Award presented by Msgr. Victor Kayrouz at St. Anthony of the Desert Maronite Mission in El-Paso, Texas. by Michelle Amber Karam On June 17, 2007, Msgr. Victor Kayrouz, Pastor of St. Anthony of the Desert Maronite Mission in El Paso, Texas, presented the Silver Massabki Award to Mrs. Madeline Jabor and the Faith of the Mountain Award to John Phillip (Johnny) Karam. Mrs. Jabor has been active at St. Anthony of the Desert since Msgr. Don Sawyer first started the mission back in 1994 at Loretto Chapel. Since then, Mrs. Jabor has helped St. Anthony of the Desert by chairing many fundraising activities with the goal of one day building our own church facilities. Johnny, now eighteen, has served St. Anthony of the Desert as an altar boy since he was twelve years old. Johnny has also been a dedicated member of the mission’s Maronite Youth Organization. Both Mrs. Jabor and Johnny have expressed great gratitude to the National Apostolate of Maronites for being recognized and honored in this way and to St. Anthony of the Desert for the ability to serve God and their community. St. Anthony of the Desert Maronite Mission is temporarily meeting at Holy Family Catholic Church located at 900 W. Missouri in El Paso, Texas. International Eucharistic Congress The 49 th International Eucharistic Congress will be held in Quebec City, Canada, June 15-22, 2008. The congress is for those age 18 and up.
