Spinal Services<br />
<strong>Nuffield</strong> <strong>Health</strong> Chichester<br />
Hospital is pleased to announce<br />
that Mr Jason Harvey, Consultant<br />
Spinal Surgeon has extended his<br />
services within the hospital.<br />
Mr Harvey's elective work is<br />
exclusively spinal, involving all<br />
aspects of spinal care. He performs<br />
spinal surgery of the neck and<br />
lower back as well as performing<br />
pain relieving injections where<br />
appropriate and a range of spinal<br />
conditions including spinal<br />
decompression and fixation. He is<br />
also the UK trainer for the Prodisc<br />
cervical disc replacement and<br />
trains both Orthopaedic Spinal<br />
Surgeons and Neurosurgeons in<br />
this exciting technique.<br />
Mr Harvey consults within the<br />
outpatient department on a<br />
Thursday evening, he then<br />
schedules patients as appropriate<br />
for surgery, on either a Tuesday or<br />
Friday evening.<br />

Orthopaedic & Physiotherapy Services<br />
The very nature of our population demands a high level of orthopaedic services. At <strong>Nuffield</strong> <strong>Health</strong><br />
Chichester Hospital we pride ourselves on the comprehensive range of services available from<br />
well established and reputable Consultant Orthopaedic Specialists supported by a team of<br />
experienced and caring professionals throughout the hospital. With a wealth of in-depth<br />
knowledge and expertise for hip, knee, shoulder, hand, foot & ankle services plus many more. and<br />
with direct access to a comprehensive range of Physiotherapy services and treatments, we<br />
provide patients with one to one, personalised services to ensure the pathway of care is designed<br />
to meet the specific needs of patients.<br />
Technology and technique frequently change in the surgical arena and at <strong>Nuffield</strong> <strong>Health</strong><br />
Chichester Hospital. we embrace the opportunity to introduce services that will enhance our<br />
patient recovery and contribute towards their improved health and wellbeing. New surgical<br />
techniques for knee replacements now include the use of bespoke prostheses which can be<br />
patient specific to improve mobility, recovery and further reduce the risk of infection.<br />
Additional treatments being developed and offered from within the hospital also include:<br />
• Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT), which is a method of treatment for multiple<br />
tendonopathies derived from lithotripsy<br />
• Collagenese injections for the treatment of Dupytrens<br />
Access for your patients into our services and treatments couldn't be easier! Whether they are<br />
insured or self funding, simply refer your patient via the on-line referral facility within our website<br />
or send a letter of referral to the hospital and we'll do the rest!<br />
We are now 'live' with additional services available under Choose & Book. again you can refer via<br />
the Choose & Book system or by traditional letter of referral with reference to the relevant clinic as<br />
noted above.<br />
The range of Choose & Book Services now include:<br />
• Shoulder Services **NEW**<br />
• Knee Services **NEW**<br />
• Young Adult Hip Service (please note that funding is not currently available for those within the<br />
SHIP PCT catchment area)<br />
• Arthritic Hip Service<br />

Physiotherapy ServicesTo further compliment our in-patient service, we offer a comprehensive<br />
range of physiotherapy services and treatments from our Physiotherapy Department located<br />
within our Fitness and Wellbeing Centre at Chichester Gate, Chichester, West Sussex P019 BEL.<br />
Conditions assessed and treated include: back and neck pain; headaches; whiplash injuries;<br />
peripheral joint problems; sports and soft tissue injuries; chronic pain; post surgery rehabilitation;<br />
work related conditions; acupuncture for pain relief and aquatherapy.<br />
