4.13.2 Using Segment Lists in a GXL Formula<br />

A segment list may be <strong>use</strong>d <strong>with</strong>in the standard GXL <strong>for</strong>mula, by replacing any of the account segments <strong>with</strong><br />

the desired segment list name. A caret symbol (^) must be inserted prior to the segment list name in the<br />

<strong>for</strong>mula <strong>for</strong> the system to recognize the segment list.<br />

Note: It is most common to <strong>use</strong> cell references <strong>with</strong>in GXL <strong>for</strong>mulas to identify parameters.<br />

Formula Example - Version 6+:<br />

=GXL("JRH","JRH-E ACT","0","2001","PER","4","50","*","^Misc")<br />

Retrieves the monetary activity <strong>for</strong> period 4 of 2001 <strong>for</strong> accounts included in the Misc segment list.
