45 Spreadsheet Server for use with BPCS - Release V12 R4 M11 4.6 GXA Formula for Account Values Use the GXA formula to retrieve account balances for a particular ledger/book, in a specific format, for a specified time period. Note: The GXA formula has been retained for backwards compatiability with prior releases of Spreadsheet Server. The GXL formula has been created to replace the GXA formula. Refer to GXL Formula for Account Values for more information. Syntax - Version 4.05: =GXA("Account String","Datagroup","Format","Period") Syntax - Version 6+: =GXA("Account String","Ledger","Book","Year","Format","Period","Library") Note: It is most common to use cell references within GXA formulas to identify parameters. Parameters: Account String The account string represents the account segments delimited by a dash. May be a single value, mask, range, value list or segment list. Note: For parameters that allow a single value, mask, range, value list or segment list syntax examples are listed below. (For more information refer to Using Value Lists in a GXL Formula and Using Segment Lists in a GXL Formula.) Single Value 8000 Retrieves value 8000. Mask (wildcard) * Retrieves all values. Mask (wildcard) 85** Retrieves values starting with 85. Range 8000.8599 Retrieves values 8000 thru 8599. Value List (single values) [8000,8250,8370] Retrieves values 8000, 8250 and 8370. Value List (range and single value) [8000.8599,8750] Retrieves values 8000 thru 8599, and 8750. Value List (range and exclude [8000.8599,/8375] Retrieves values 8000 thru 8599, excluding value) 8375. Segment List ^CASH Retrieves all values in CASH segment list. Datagroup (Version 4.05) Identifies the data type. Valid options are CURRENT, PRIOR, FUTURE, BUDGETA, BUDGETB and CBnn (where nn equals the budget number). Ledger (Version 6+) Identifies the CEA ledger. Book (Version 6+) Identifies the CEA book. Year (Version 6+) Year identifier.
Building Spreadsheets 46 Format Format options are: PER QTR YTD LTD RANGE PERJ QTRJ YTDJ Activity for the selected period Activity for the periods included in the selected quarter number Activity for periods 1 through the designated period number excluding or including the opening balance based upon an option on the Setting's Ledger Specifics panel (see User Settings) Activity for periods 1 through the designated period number including the opening balance Activity for a range of periods specified Period activity for the selected month, including unposted JVs Activity for periods included in the selected quarter number, including unposted JVs Activity for periods 1 through the designated period number excluding or including the opening balance based upon an option on the Setting's Ledger Specifics panel (see User Settings) and including unposted JVs Period Corresponds to period, quarter number, or range of periods (i.e. 1.5 for periods 1 thru 5) for the specified format. Library Optional parameter that identifies the name of an alternate library from which to retrieve data. If left blank, Spreadsheet Server uses the library specified during signon. Formula Example - Version 6+ - Using Single Values: =GXA("50-000-31112","JRH","JRH-E ACT","2001","PER","4") Retrieves the monetary balance for period 4 of 2001 for a single account string. Formula Example - Version 6+ - Using Alternate Library Name: =GXA("50-000-31112","JRH","JRH-E ACT","2001","PER","4","BPCS") Retrieves the monetary balance for period 4 of 2001 for a single account from the alternate library, BPCS.
