13 Spreadsheet Server for use with BPCS - Release V12 R4 M11 Menu Item Formula Assistant Build a Template Segment Lists Data Validation Locate Segment Enable Disable Settings Description Opens the Formula Assistant panel, allowing the user to maintain parameters for a formula (see Formula Assistant). Opens the Template Wizard panel, allowing the user to quickly create a template on a Spreadsheet Server spreadsheet (see Build a Template). Opens the Maintain Segment Lists panel, allowing the user to create and/or maintain segment lists (see Create/Maintain Segment Lists). Opens the Data Validation panel, allowing the user to create a validation list for a specific cell in Excel (see SS Validation). Opens the Locate A Segment Value or Hierarchy panel, displaying a list of valid values or hierarchy values for each account segment (see Locate Segment Value or Hierarchy). Opens the Sign On panel, allowing the user to start Spreadsheet Server (see Starting Spreadsheet Server). Closes the connection and disables Spreadsheet Server formulas (see Disable / Enable Spreadsheet Server Formula Calculations). Opens the Settings panel, allowing the user to define various criteria to control processing (see User Settings).

Getting Started 14 3.2 Starting Spreadsheet Server Follow the steps below to start the add-in component of Spreadsheet Server. · When user settings are set to start Spreadsheet Server during Excel startup, then step 2 is not applicable. · When unattended (auto) signon is activated, steps 3 thru 5 are not applicable. 1. Start Excel. 2. In Excel from the SServer Disabled menu, select Start Spreadsheet Server -or- select the SS ribbon equivalent (see SS Ribbon). The Sign On to Spreadsheet Server dialog box appears. 3. On the Sign On dialog box identify the following information: · Host Name or IP Address (iSeries system name or IP address) · Database Library Name (name of library containing General Ledger data) · User ID (standard iSeries sign on) · Password (standard iSeries password) 4. Click OK. 5. For BPCS 6.02 users only, on the BPCS Chart of Accounts Name panel specify the name of the chart of accounts to be used and click OK. Global Software, Inc.

3.2 Starting <strong>Spreadsheet</strong> <strong>Server</strong><br />

Follow the steps below to start the add-in component of <strong>Spreadsheet</strong> <strong>Server</strong>.<br />

· When <strong>use</strong>r settings are set to start <strong>Spreadsheet</strong> <strong>Server</strong> during Excel startup, then step 2 is not applicable.<br />

· When unattended (auto) signon is activated, steps 3 thru 5 are not applicable.<br />

1. Start Excel.<br />

2. In Excel from the S<strong>Server</strong> Disabled menu, select Start <strong>Spreadsheet</strong> <strong>Server</strong> -or- select the SS ribbon equivalent<br />

(see SS Ribbon). The Sign On to <strong>Spreadsheet</strong> <strong>Server</strong> dialog box appears.<br />

3. On the Sign On dialog box identify the following in<strong>for</strong>mation:<br />
