Remember Heisenberg's proposal:<br />

p and n are just two manifestations of the same<br />

<strong>particle</strong>, the nucleon. Identify them with the<br />

isosp<strong>in</strong>-up and isosp<strong>in</strong>-down states of the nucleon:<br />

Catch: Isosp<strong>in</strong> conserved <strong>in</strong> strong <strong>in</strong>teractions!<br />

Will dwell on that a bit: Play with pions, nucleons<br />

and Delta's.<br />

(Note: Multiplicity <strong>in</strong> each multiplet: 2I+1).
