Brief description of provider<br />
I am an Educational Consultant with 18 years successful experience of Headship <strong>in</strong><br />
special <strong>schools</strong> and over thirty years experience work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> ma<strong>in</strong>stream and special<br />
<strong>schools</strong>. From 1993-2008, I was the Headteacher of one of the most successful<br />
special <strong>schools</strong> <strong>in</strong> the country, Westfield Technology College, <strong>in</strong> Weymouth.<br />
Westfield achieved specialist status <strong>in</strong> 2000, Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g School status <strong>in</strong> 2003 (the first<br />
special school to achieve this nationally) and jo<strong>in</strong>ed the High Perform<strong>in</strong>g Specialist<br />
Schools (HPSS) programme <strong>in</strong> 2006; we enjoyed successive outstand<strong>in</strong>g OfSTEDs<br />
<strong>in</strong> 1999 and 2006. I became one of the first tranche of National Leaders <strong>in</strong> Education<br />
(2006), an accredited special school SIP (work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> 6 different LAs and <strong>in</strong> the nonma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>ed<br />
sector) and I am the current SW Regional Consultant support<strong>in</strong>g special<br />
<strong>schools</strong> for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust.<br />
I live <strong>in</strong> France and enjoy about 4 months of the year work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> special <strong>schools</strong> <strong>in</strong><br />
the south west of England – <strong>in</strong> a flexible work<strong>in</strong>g pattern!<br />
