Vacuum delivery should be incorporated smoothly into the normal birth process and
guarantee maximum safety. Through its simple handling and extensive range of
accessories the Medela Vacuum Delivery System provides the obstetric team with an
efficient, safe and totally reliable system.
■ High safety
The specially shaped cups guarantee gentle, safe suction.
The suction jar acts as a vacuum reservoir. Small
air leakages between the suction cup and the baby’s
head are closed immediately.
Inadvertent release of the head («pop off») is
thereby prevented.
■ Fast vacuum build-up
The Basic 30 provides extremely efficient vacuum generation
– the required vacuum is available within seconds.
The system is immediately available with guaranteed
reliability whenever it is needed.
■ Perfect control
The desired vacuum can be precisely preset with the
membrane regulator. The optional foot vacuum regulator
allows the vacuum pressure to be regulated at any
time. This leaves the hands free for complete attention
to the mother and baby.

Disposable Suction Cups
THE PERFECT ACCESSORIES
Medela offers two different disposable cups, customized on the fetal positions and
highly suitable in combination with electric vacuum pumps. The devices are sterile and
ready for use immediately. Reliable assistance during the second stage is secured.
Single Use Silc Cup ®
The small inside projections enable the air between
the cup and the child’s head to be evacuated and
ensure that the cup sucks firmly against the child’s
head.
If the baby’s head is in the Occiput Anterior position,
the Single Use Silc Cup assists the delivery without
forming a chignon.
Single Use Bird Cup ®
The internal polypropylene mesh takes up minimal
space in the cup for maximum chignon and air flow.
If the baby’s head is in the Occiput Posterior position,
in the Occiput Transverse position or if the
head is particularly large, the Single Use Bird Cup
is the perfect device.
